How to configure a dial-up connection

To connect to the Internet you need to follow the following configuration steps. To complete a successful configuration, please read each of the steps mentioned below very carefully. You also need to have your Windows 95 installation diskets or your Windows 95 CD-ROM. If after following all of these steps you still can't connect, contact our technical support group and they will be glad to help you. Good luck!

| Dial-Up Networking installation |
- Double-click on Control Panel
- Double-click on Add/Remove Programs
- Click on Windows Setup
|

- Click on Details...
- Check the box Dial-up Networking
|
|
- Click on OK
- Click on Apply
- When the copy files dialog box appears Insert Disk which applies and follow the instructions.
- Restart your computer

- Double-click on Dial-Up Networking icon.

How to make a connection to Clair.Net |
- In Dial-up Networking, click on Make New Connection
|
|
- In the text box, type a name for the Computer you are dialing type Clair.Net
- Click on Next
- Type in the Area Code and the Telephone number shown below

- Click on Next
- Click on Finish
- You now have access to Clair.Net in the Dial-up Networking icon
|
|
- Click on the icon clair.net and then choose File and then Properties
- Click on Type of Server
- Choose PPP Internet for Type of Dial-up Server
- Check the box Enable software compression
- Check the box TCP/IP

- Click on TCP/IP Settings
- Choose Server assigned IP Address
- Choose Server assigned name server addresses.

You can also create a shortcut by right-clicking your Clair.Net connection icon in Dial-Up Networking and choosing Create Shortcut. When asked click on Yes. |
How to connect to Clair.Net |
- Click on the icon clair.net in Dial-up Networking
- Type your user name and password
|

|
You should now be connected to the Internet. To navigate on the Internet you need a browser, either Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. If you don't have one you can download it by way of a DOS command line utility for connection via FTP. For help look at the section pertaining to Technical Support. Note: To terminate your Internet session with Clair.Net you must click on Disconnect to go off-line. If after you have followed all of these steps and are still not able to connect to the Internet, please contact us for help.
