How to configure your emails with Microsoft Outlook 97

If you use Microsoft Outlook 97 (this usually comes with Microsoft Office 97) and you would like to configure your email addresses to be able to send and receive emails, simply follow the step by step instructions defined herein. |
- From the Outlook Tools menu, choose Services
- Select the Services tab
- If Internet E-mail appears in the list of services:
- Highlight Internet E-mail
- Click the Properties button
- Go to step 7
- If Internet E-mail does not appear, continue with step 4

Click the Add button
In the Add Service to Profile window, highlight Internet E-mail

Click OK
In the Mail Account Properties window, select the General tab
In the Full name box, type your complete name.
In the E-mail Address box, type your Clair.net e-mail address (e.g., 8caracteres@clair.net).
In the Internet Mail Server box, type mail.clair.net
In the Account name box, type the first part of your email address. (e.g., 8caracteres)
Next, type the password for your account

Select the Connection tab
Under Connecting to Internet Mail, choose connect using the modem
For Dial using the following connection, select your Clair.net connection.

Click OK
If you have added the Internet Mail service, you will be prompted to restart Outlook. Click OK
Click OK again to dismiss the Services window.
Quit and restart Outlook if necessary

You are now all set up to send and receive email using your Microsoft Outlook 97. |
